The storyline inside the film reveals this. Chaplin’s tramp falls in adore with Merna, who returns his passion. Then, a tightrope walker named Rex (played by Henry Bergman) arrives onto the scene and Merna immediately falls in appreciate with him. Why? Because his act is daring and harmful even though Chaplin’s clown act has a lot less prestige
